It's finally here! THE FIRST BETRAYAL has been spotted in the wild, and [livejournal.com profile] libwitch reported that there are copies at my local Waldenbooks ready to go out on the shelves.

Happy Release Day!

ETA: See the Bantam Spectra website for this month's newsletter and their interview with me.

I think [livejournal.com profile] fireun opened this morning, and if so, I am sure your book was shelved as soon as the store opened! *grin*

*Beams* Yes the books were on the shelves, you guys are the best. I petted them gently and then bought Naomi Novik's Throne of Jade and the just released Blackpowder War.

I understand completely. I have dozens of books in my TBR stack, and just bought another half-dozen from Larry Smith over the weekend. But hey, if by some reason I do find the time, I already have the books.

[delurk]

I was so hoping to get your book today. But, alas, the bookstore on campus sucks and I shall have to wait 'til Friday. ;_;

Congrats!

Hooray! I hope FoF is well stocked.

Must have book...

Maybe I'll go over early and get a copy ahead of time. Thing is, every time I go there I buy WAY too many books, and that would mean being tempted twice. Such a struggle... ;)

Same thing happens to me. Last night I stopped by Waldenbooks to confirm that TFB was on the shelves, then wandered out with two more paperbacks to add to my TBR stack. If I hadn't just bought $$ of books at Balticon over the weekend, I'm sure I would have bought even more.

Last time I went to FoF I meant to get one book and ended up with about six.

I called the Bookery II, our local independent bookstore, on Wednesday late afternoon and they had two copies on the shelf. I had them put one on hold for me. When I went in to pick mine up at 9:30 am on Thursday, the other one had already been sold. Way to go!

THE FIRST BETRAYAL

Great book! Bought it yesterday. My dh had to remind me to stop reading around 4 a.m. Loved the characters and the situation. Hate, hate, HATE the fact it will take me the better part of a year to find out what happens after the SEA CHANGE teaser. Evil wench!
It's almost enough to make me reopen CRESCENT BLUES and offer to trade an interview for a peak at the draft. ;-)
Congratulations! Fingers crossed that the book wins you all the fans and awards you both deserve. Meanwhile, so glad you and jdunne had a great time in NYC.
Three cheers,
Jean Marie

Thanks so much for the kind words! THE SEA CHANGE is being particularly ornery as I try to wrap it up, so your encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Not to worry. You'll wrestle SEA CHANGE into submission any minute now, and the results will be fabulous. Cheers,
