Last Sunday I woke up with a sore throat. By Monday it was a runny nose and sneezing, by Tuesday it was congestion and on Wednesday it had migrated to my lungs and I was standing in the cough & cold aisle, trying blearily to figure out which of the eleven thousand kinds of cold remedies I needed. Fever, yes. Body aches, not so much. Coughing, wheezing, congestion, yup, got them. It's been a few years since I had a cold or flu so naturally I don't remember what works for me and what doesn't, and ultimately wound up buying something red because the orange stuff scared me.

By then I had migrated to working from home, but was so exhausted that I resorted to blocking my calendar for an hour each afternoon so I could nap.

Started to turn the corner on Friday, and Friday night I was doing well enough to grab a meal out with Josh. Yesterday I managed to do a couple of errands, including picking up my bike after its spring tune-up. I had vague thoughts of being well enough to go riding today, but just preparing breakfast and taking a shower left me feeling like I needed a nap. I'm pleased to be over the worst of it, but the lethargy is annoying, as is the remaining mental fuzziness. Do I want to spend my energy going grocery shopping? Getting writing done today? It's bill paying Sunday, can I leave that till later or should I do it now?

Bah.

I blame the virus on my PC virus problems--as those who saw me in person can attest, I was so torqued over the whole episode that I wasn't sleeping well, and was likely run down enough to be easy prey for whatever germ is making the rounds. Judging by my friendslist, it's a nasty one.

Think it's time to see if another cup of coffee can jump start my brain into making a plan.
